Sermon Purpose: I want to motivate my hearers to condemn the ungodly while confessing seeking God’s providential care.
1. BY ALL MEANS CONDEMN THE UNGODLY v1-4
Because of what they do
Because of their motivation v1b,
BUT THEN CONSIDER GOD’S PROVIDENCE v5-9
Because of his lovingkindness, faithfulness, righteousness judgements. V5-6
A fourfold description of God’s lovingkindness
It’s scope –– Heaven v5a Fountain of life – v9a
It’s value – Precious v7a
It’s source – the shadow of Thy wings v7b
It’s effect – Protection v7b

ASK HIM FOR IT’S CONTINUANCE IN STRESSES OF LIFE v10-11
Why does he ask for God to continue His lovindness? Because in the midst of evil it provides grace to live for God and engenders right living v10
So you too will not do evil v11
Because they reap what they sow v12
