Notes: This is a companion to Psalm 4. The circumstances being similar, v3 indicating it is a morning prayer. Cf. New Bible Commentary
David being grievously oppressed by the cruelty of his enemies, and apprehending more trouble, earnestly pleads with God for help. First he shows the intolerable malice of his enemies, showing how inconsistent it would be with the character of God if He didnt punish them. Next he tells of his own faith and patience, even comfort that it will all work out o.k. The results of his prayer will benefit not only himself but the godly too.
