Context:
David recounts the time of his persecution by Saul. It has two parts; In the first, David recounts the serve attacks of temptation anxiety he experienced during this time. In the second part he congratulates himself on being delivered by God magnifies Gods righteousness in His government of the world. John Calvin
Purpose: I want to persuade my hearers when they are anxious to trust God recall His Sovereignty, knowledge judgement of the wicked His deep Love concern for the righteous

1. TRUST GOD WHEN YOUR TEMPTED ANXIOUS
1.1 Trust God when your tempted anxious
11:1 In the LORD put I my trust:
1.2 The temptation
11:1b how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow
upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do
HOW TO OVERCOME BEING TEMPTED
ANXIOUS
2.1 Recall God is Sovereign
all Knowing
11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORDs throne is in heaven:
his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
2.2 Recall God will Judge the wicked
11b but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an
horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
2.3 Recall Gods deep love concern for you the righteous
11:5a The LORD trieth the righteous:
11:7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance
doth behold the upright.
