Telos: I want to persuade my hearers to believe
Gods Word; that He will help those who seek it while judging those who
apostasies.
1. CRAVE GODS HELP
1.1 By admitting you need His help asking Him for it
Help LORD; v1a
Why you crave Gods help? Because the Godly are no longer Godly v1b
for the godly man ceaseth; v1c
for the faithful fail from among the children of men. V1d
They speak vanity every one with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. V2
2. TAKE CONFIDENCE IN GODS JUDGEMENT v3-4,8
Because of the apostates words
Psa 12:3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering
lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
Psa 12:4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail;
our lips are our own: who is lord over us?
Because of the apostates ways
